The salary range for this position is $81,000 to $112,000. The final offer will be determined based on the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and internal equity considerations. Please note that the offer may fall anywhere within the posted range and is not necessarily at the top end.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Project Engineer is responsible for supporting project implementation activities, including monitoring the contractor e20 9s construction progress and ensuring the contractor’s compliance with contractual requirements. This position will support completion and closeout activities for the new stal̕əw̓asəm (Riverview) Bridge, construction of the connecting infrastructure and the demolition activities on the existing Pattullo Bridge.
Key Accountabilities- Supports the technical team in review and coordination of various submissions including design drawings, over-arching plans, quality plans and construction work plans.
- Reviews documentation received from the design-build Contractor (e.g., material specifications, work method statements, inspection and test plans, drawings, test results, repair strategies, RFIs/ITPs/DCNs/NCRs, and other technical documentation) to gather information about Project activities.
- Monitors the contractor’s compliance with professional and regulatory requirements, technical specifications, design drawings and owner requirements.
- Monitor’s construction progress and quantity tracking and provides regular site reports that include all observations, concerns, potential issues to ensure project deliverables are compliant with the approved designs and project requirements.
- Captures and reviews meeting minutes and captures and prepares document review comments.
- Provides Daily Site Reports with observations, concerns, potential issues, to ensure project deliverables comply with approved designs and project requirements.
- Work closely with the Province’s Owner’s Engineer team in the review of the contractor’s submittals and in addressing technical and construction issues.
- Attends construction meetings, supports coordination and management of project interfaces between Contractor and Project Stakeholders, and assists with mitigation of construction risks.
- Provides feedback on the validity of claims received from the contractor.
- Provides support to Quality Manager and Construction Manager with respect to identifying potential non-conformances.
- Verifies Contractor performance of additional out of scope activities.
- Degree in Civil Engineering and registered as a professional engineer or Engineer in Training with EGBC, with experience in construction monitoring and reporting on Contractor activities.
- Experience with civil works, including excavation, site grading and backfill, utility construction.
- Experience with bridge works, including driven pile install, formwork, reinforcing, concrete placement for bridge piers, pier caps, and bridge decks, and structural steel girder erection and precast panel erection.
- Experience analyzing and forecasting potential issues and developing solutions to mitigate impacts.
