ResponsibilitiesAt Tritech, we aim to provide opportunities that are challenging, fast-paced, that effectively utilize the skills of our team members, and provides variety in day-to-day tasks.
The job responsibilities for this role includes:
- Perform various manual labor tasks to support mechanical/civil operations
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials
- Maintain a clean worksite by removing unwanted materials from construction sites
- Assist heavy equipment operators with compaction, loading and moving of fill
- Install miscellaneous metals (stairs, platforms, handrails, and pipe supports)
- Assist with the installation of underground process and plumbing piping systems (HDPE, PVC, Ductile Iron, Steel, Copper etc.) ranging from ½” - 60” diameter
- Assist with the installation of process equipment (pumps, mixers, blowers, compressors, gates, valves)
- Use power tools and machinery when needed
- Establish a safe work environment through continuous training and development and by maintaining all safety standards
Operate with honesty, integrity, and respect, and maintain a client focus - Other tasks, as assigned, to assist specialized tradespeople on-site
- Secondary school diploma, or equivalent, is preferred
- Knowledge of safe hoisting and rigging procedures
- Experience working on an active construction site, preference is given to those with experience working in water/wastewater infrastructure or heavy civil envirioments.
- Good command of the English language
- Reliable transportation, driver’s license, and a clean Driver Abstract considered a asset
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and pass a fitness test.
- Confined Space Entry Training is a requirement
- The following training and certifications are an asset
- Construction Safety Training Systems Certificate (CSTS), or SiteReady
BC Online Construction Safety Orientation Certificate - First Aid Certificate
- Traffic Control Person Certification
- Fall Protection training
- Construction Safety Training Systems Certificate (CSTS), or SiteReady
- Experience working with a variety of hand and power tools and machinery is preferred
- Apprenticeship or specialization, or willingness to take one on is preferred
- Must be able to supply steel-toed safety boots
