PositionSummary
Accounts Receivable Clerk is a detail-oriented and well-organized professional responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable activities. This role supports the organization’s cash flow by generating invoices, monitoring customer accounts, collecting payments, and resolving accounts receivable issues while maintaining strong internal and external relationships.
Reporting to:
Controller
- Accurately and efficiently generate, review, and distribute customer invoices, ensuring alignment with sales orders, contracts, and supporting documentation
- Monitor the Accounts Receivable inbox; respond to internal and external inquiries and follow up on outstanding balances and payment discrepancies
- Update and maintain customer invoicing information within customer payment portals and internal systems
- Apply customer payments, investigate short pays or discrepancies, and resolve accounts receivable issues in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and well-organized customer account records in accordance with company policies
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders
Support month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and reporting - Identify opportunities to improve or streamline accounts receivable processes and workflows
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant or Controller
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in an accounts receivable or general accounting role
- Experience working with high-volume invoicing and collections is an asset
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Solid understanding of accounts receivable principles and best practices
- Proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment
- Professional, customer-focused approach when handling sensitive financial matters
- Experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered beneficial
