Accountant – Manufacturing Company
Location: Surrey, BC
Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year
In-Office Position - This is not a remote work.
About the CompanyWe are a growing manufacturing company based in Surrey, BC, seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands‑on accounting experience in a manufacturing environment who is working toward their CPA designation (or recently designated).
Key Responsibilities- Maintain full‑cycle accounting records, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
- Perform cost accounting and project accounting, including tracking production costs, variances, and job profitability.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, including related remittances.
- Human Resources management and maintain extended health benefits.
- Prepare and file government filings, including GST/PST, payroll remittances, and other statutory requirements.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end reporting and working papers.
- Support management with ad‑hoc analysis, reports, and special projects as required.
- Prepare monthly and ad‑hoc project profitability analysis with the production team to enable efficiency, proper accountability, and decision making.
- Prepare budget variance reports and cash flow forecasts and financial analyses for senior leadership.
- Collaborate with operations and other departments to ensure accurate financial data.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- CPA designation completed or near completion (CPA student in good standing).
- Strong experience in cost accounting and project accounting.
- Hands‑on experience with payroll processing and government filings.
- Solid understanding of Canadian accounting standards and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with Quick Books Desktop and Microsoft.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Competitive salary of $75,000–$85,000, based on experience.
