Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, General Labor, Groundskeeper
Summary
Incumbents perform routine work in the maintenance of the City's sports facilities, parks, and trails. This is accomplished by performing skilled and semi-skilled construction and maintenance duties such as mowing, landscaping, irrigation, and sports fields and general maintenance. Depending on assignment, incumbents may be required to work evenings, holidays, and weekends to support events and tournaments.
Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED, and two years of recreation, parks, and sports turf maintenance experience. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience. Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire.
Certifications, Licenses, RegistrationsMust have at time of hire and be able to maintain a valid Arizona Driver License. Pesticide/herbicide applicator license is required within six months of hire and must be maintained.
Selection ProcessApplicants whose education, training and experience most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to participate in a selection process to include a panel interview.
