Job description

Our client is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician in Surprise, AZ . This individual will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair and upkeep of company facilities, equipment, and grounds. This position requires a person who possesses a strong understanding of building systems, has excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

This role requires a strong communicator capable of clearly and effectively conveying information to both senior leadership and frontline production employees.

The right candidate will be able to lead projects with little to no supervision.

Maintenance Technician Shift:

• 1 st Shift - 7:00am to 3:00pm
• 2 nd Shift - 3:00pm to 11:00pm

Maintenance Technician Pay:

• Starting at $ 25 - $30 / hr DOE

Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of facilities, machinery, racking, and equipment to identify and solve potential issues before they become problems
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on assigned systems and building components
• Conduct monthly inspections of fire extinguishers to ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational readiness
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and parts used
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to assigned systems and building components
• Perform general carpentry tasks, including minor wall repairs, door adjustments, and furniture assembly/repair
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in maintenance areas, workshops, and storage rooms
• Maintain, update, and ensure accessibility of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals utilized adhering to safety protocols and regulatory requirements
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of tools and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with relevant building codes and safety regulations
• Identify and report any safety hazards or potential risks to management
• Track and replenish all maintenance supplies, diagnostic tools, and key spare components vital for uninterrupted facility and equipment maintenance
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services when necessary
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations promptly and efficiently
• Other duties as assigned

Maintenance Technician Qualifications:

• Must be able to pass a Drug test and Background check
• Good job stability
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work individually or with a team
• High school diploma or equivalent, technical degree is a plus but not required.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
• 5 years of experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools and u nderstanding of production procedures .
• Ability to frequently lift, maneuver, and/or pivot up to 55 pounds .
• Tolerate inclement weather, including heat and cold. Must have a normal level of tolerance for chemicals and/or airborne particles and noise level tolerance.
