Position: GRILL COOK (FULL AND PART TIME)

Overview

We are hiring immediately for a full- and part-time GRILL COOK position at University of Wisconsin Superior. Address: 1605 Catlin Avenue, Superior, WI 54880.

Schedule

Full-time: shift 1 — 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday; 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Wednesday. Shift 2 — 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday through Thursday. Part-time: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday. More details upon interview.

  • Previous food service experience is preferred.

Job Summary

Prepares food and serves customers at the grill station in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations to ensure high‑quality food service is provided.

Responsibilities
  • Take orders and prepare items requiring short preparation; complete orders from steam tables and serve customers at multiple stations.
  • Serve customers efficiently and courteously, ensuring correct temperatures and appealing presentation.
  • Follow ticket-collection procedures and maintain records from the area worked.
  • Use approved recipes and production standards to ensure quality, proper serving temperatures and standard portion control.
  • Move pans, kettles and trays safely between workstations, stove and refrigerator.
  • Store foods in designated areas with proper wrapping, dating and rotation procedures.
  • Clean, sanitize and maintain work areas, equipment and utensils to meet sanitation standards.
  • Address customer concerns and report relevant information to the supervisor.
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings; maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and managers.
  • Perform duties safely and maintain a clean, safe work environment; perform other duties as assigned.
