Security Officer - Retail Center (Part‑Time)

Pay Rate: $18.54 per hour

Job Schedule:

  • Mon: 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM
  • Fri: 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM
  • Sun: 06:00 AM – 02:00 PM

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security‑related incidents. You will support access control, assist with badge checks, and use a computer and/or tablet to document activity and communicate clearly with the team. What You’ll Do
  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by following Allied Universal procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail and/or mall location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, including storefront areas, common areas, corridors, loading and receiving areas, and perimeter zones, as permitted by site guidelines.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations; document findings and complete required incident and activity reports in a timely manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, including addressing disturbances, supporting lost and found processes, and coordinating with site management and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Monitor access points and customer traffic patterns, provide directions and assistance to shoppers and employees, and help to deter theft‑related and/or disruptive behavior through visible presence and professional communication.
Minimum Requirements
  • Have at least 1 year of security‑related experience.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
