Security Officer - Flex - Retail Patrol

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting regular patrols and maintaining a visible presence throughout a dynamic retail location. You will interact with guests and staff, providing exceptional customer service while supporting access control measures. What Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques when necessary.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and monitor for any unusual circumstances.
  • Observe and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or suspicious activity encountered during patrols within the retail environment.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Allied Universal team members and site staff to support a secure and welcoming environment for all patrons.
  • Assist with access control procedures by monitoring entry and exit points as assigned, and verifying credentials as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Experience with X Ray screening is preferred.
  • Experience in loss prevention is preferred.
  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
