• Perform Echocardiograms using departmental protocol for image acquisition.
• Assist with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs) and stress testing, providing supporting images for physician diagnosis.
• Identify problems and implement appropriate interventions, including reporting critical values.
• Set priorities for completion of studies based on acuity, patient preference and coordination with nursing and ancillary services.
• Provide EKG and Holter services as workload permits; obtain EKGs with appropriate lead placement, minimal artifact and correct patient information.
• Set up and scan Holter monitors, providing tracings for physician diagnosis.
• Perform and monitor echocardiogram procedures; calculate, measure and document appropriate values for physician review.
• Communicate with physicians, managers and co-workers regarding changes in patient's clinical conditions during echocardiography.

Required:

Graduate of accredited CAAHEP or diagnostic medical sonography school, or at least 6 months of clinical experience.

Required:

6 months in clinical setting. Preferred: 2 years.

Required:

Registry eligible and AHA BLS. Preferred: RDMS, RDCS, or RCS.
