• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Understanding of database internals or experience optimizing Spanner-based metadata stacks for scalability.
• Expertise in designing and implementing mission-critical, large-scale distributed storage systems.

The Google Cloud Storage (GCS) Metadata team is re-architecting the planet-scale foundation of Blobstore, a distributed storage system managing over 100 trillion objects for products like You Tube and AI/ML. In this role, you will drive the evolution of this next-generation stack, balancing technical mastery of metadata infrastructure with organizational influence. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. • Lead the design and implementation of mission-critical Blobstore metadata software, driving key technical decisions and long-term architectural evolution.
