Join Sam's Club as a Senior Software Engineer on the Promotions Platform team. Build and run omni‑channel promotion capabilities powering our US business across Membership, Merchandising, Marketing, and Loyalty. Your work will directly influence day‑to‑day business outcomes and member value.

• Collaborate with product team, architects, and QA to provide team leadership and design, develop, and enhance a reliable and easy‑to‑maintain infrastructure.
• Partner with business stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to ensure compliance with Walmart code of conduct.
• Troubleshoot business and production issues, gather information, and engage support teams for resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis to prevent future issues and ensure compliance with Walmart code of conduct.
• Provide technical guidance and continuous mentorship to junior team members.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with minimum 5+ years of experience in software design, development and automated deployments.
• Hands‑on experience building Java‑based backend systems and cloud‑based solutions. Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Spark.
• Experience managing large‑scale data systems (terabyte or petabyte scale).
• Dev Ops proficiency, including CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, and major cloud platforms (GCP, Azure).
• Ownership of data infrastructure from architecture to deployment.
• Strong system design skills and experience designing data‑intensive applications in open stack.
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals, microservices, data structures, algorithms, and problem solving.
• Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, and testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Mock MVC.
• Knowledge of distributed concepts, design patterns, cloud native development, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational databases, OLAP/OLTP queries, No
  
  SQL databases (Cosmos DB), caching (Redis, Memcached), event‑based systems (Kafka), and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Splunk).
• Containerization skills with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes.
