Join Uber’s Membership team as a Staff Software Engineer, where you’ll help design and reinvent the Uber and Uber Eats app to deliver a member‑first experience from pricing to perks. You’ll collaborate in a highly cross‑functional environment, building code that directly impacts consumers worldwide.

• Design, develop, and improve systems and products used by millions of members, in collaboration with a team of talented engineers, Product Managers and Designers.
• Write high‑quality code and uphold standards for testing and coverage.
• Align the team on solutions to ambiguous problems and analyze the tradeoffs of different technical solutions.
• Contribute to engineering cultivation in terms of quality, monitoring, and on‑call practices.
• Mentor and coach other engineers.
• Find opportunities to improve how our team operates and promote standard processes.

• 7+ years of experience delivering, scaling, and owning highly successful and innovative software products.
• Proven engineering and coding skills in Go, Python, Java or equivalent, with a focus on high‑performance production code.
• Perseverance to get things done and a focus on shipping online production systems.
• Deep love of building elegant, maintainable, well‑documented code; abstracting and refactoring as a passion, not a chore.

• Experience across the stack, familiarity with mobile platforms and ML systems.
• High bar for quality demonstrated by code reviews, documentation, unit and integration testing.
• Drive to continually learn and exceed expectations.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

San Francisco, CA or Sunnyvale, CA – Base salary range: $223,000 – $248,000 per year. Eligible for Uber’s bonus program, equity award, and various benefits (details at ).
