What to Expect

The Failure Analysis Team's mission is to determine root cause and contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla's products by reducing field issues, in collaboration with a large community of other engineering teams. Engineers and technicians on the team are responsible for a wide variety of vehicle products for existing models and models in development. This role requires hands‑on work focused on keeping area’s organized and helping team members out with any help when the time comes.

This role is a start for an engineering technician career in our team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual who knows how to operate a forklift (Forklift Certification is a plus). Who also is open to learning about the products we work on, and willing to work in a fast paced environment. Below are the essential duties and responsibilities required for the new role to take on.

• Operate a forklift
• Loading and offloading semi‑trucks and organizing inventory
• Maintain inventory integrity and repair history through diligent record keeping and adherence to process
• Collect product data and update and maintain electronic records
• Perform basic intake procedures on parts returned from the field
• Identify discrepant materials and its components, both verbally and in writing to supervisor and engineers
• Complete tasks within standard times, as directed by supervisor and per established schedules
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Suggest enhancements to process and department layout and help implement once approved
• Sort variety of mixed scrap material with like material. (Need to understand metal identification)
• Ability to recognize hazardous material and monitor scrap material containers. Replace as required. Weigh scrap material, and properly complete all required documents (bill of lading, weigh tickets). Prepare and package scrap material for shipment

• Forklift experience highly preferred
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
• Associate's or technical degree preferred
• Proficient with hand tools and computer based tools
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal
• Proficient with computer tools, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must be reliable, innovative, committed, a self‑starter, and quality focused
• Ability to perform repetitious duties while standing for long periods
• Ability to lift 30-50 lbs.

Expected Compensation: $24.40 - $50.40/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
