About The Job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross‑functional partners across the company.

You’re equally comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Central Engineering Operations (CEO) defines and operates centralized mechanisms that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of GCP’s Product Life‑cycle. Within the CEO, the Cross‑General Manager Engineering Operation (Eng Ops) team focuses on reducing the cost and cycle time of delivering mission critical, cross‑GCP/TI programs like Horizontals and Code Yellows. The mission of this Platformization Technical Program Manager is to achieve these goals by increasing GCP/TI adoption of central platforms like CCFE, API Proxy, Pod Spanner.

As a Platformization Technical Program Manager, you will drive increased platform adoption by designing and operating mechanisms to increase platform awareness, remove barriers to platform adoption, and formalize platformization as a core part of GCP/TI’s engineering and planning processes. You will be part of the Cross‑General Manager Engineering Operations team, integrating new mechanisms into existing ones like program intake, program prioritization, semester planning, and roadmap enablement.

Responsibilities
  • Design and operate central mechanisms for capturing, prioritizing, and communicating feature requests from Horizontal program owners and product owners to Platform owners in GCP/TI and Core.
  • Partner with platform teams to publish and regularly update their platform roadmaps.
  • Create, launch, and maintain a platform catalog (e.g., a single source of truth for platform capabilities, roadmaps, and onboarding documentation for program owners and Technical Leads).
  • Improve platform awareness and adoption via enablement/communications effort, such as a GCP Platforms TL Summit.
  • Develop and execute strategies to drive mechanism adoption and ongoing improvement.
