We are looking for you to join our team as an Operations Program Manager 1 based at our Sunnyvale, CA campus supporting the Launcher Operating Unit.
In this role you will be working closely with the Program Manager and Manufacturing Operations functional management and will be responsible for execution of the manufacturing scope of a multi-million dollar defense program.
What you will get to do:
The Operations Program Manager 1 oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
Operations Program Managers (OPMs) manage all phases of program manufacturing from inception through completion. The OPM is responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of manufacturing scope on both development and production programs. The OPM leads and coordinates manufacturing activity across the program life cycle, from capture/proposal through execution/production and contract closeout. The OPM coordinates the preparation of operating budgets and manufacturing plans.
They act as the primary customer/PM contact for all manufacturing activities, leading program review sessions with customer/PM to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. The OPM establishes high level manufacturing milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, and identifies problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing specifications. They coordinate the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing, financial, and administrative areas.

Propose, plan/baseline, and execute to performance management baseline.
Champion and lead Change Management processes and Continuous Improvement activities to resolve problems and improve efficiency.
Coordinate responses with functional organizations to keep projects on schedule.
Perform risk and opportunity management functions for the manufacturing scope in concert with the overall program RSKOM effort.
Manage EVMS and Control Account Management (CAM) functions for manufacturing scope.
Mentor and guide functional CAMs within operations.
