Facilities Assistant Job Description
Join our team as a Facilities Assistant, where you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and operational efficiency within our building. Your daily routine will include cleaning various areas, handling maintenance tasks, and coordinating with vendors, ensuring a clean and safe environment for all.
Responsibilities- Follow a set daily route in the building, completing tasks as per the work order system.
- Clean 12 restrooms, 2 break rooms, hallways, and office spaces.
- Handle emergency clean-ups and, occasionally, wear a bunny suit to assist in cleaning clean rooms.
- Perform janitorial duties, including deep restroom cleaning, flooring cleaning, and heavy trash bag disposal.
- Provide maintenance support, such as changing soap dispensers and faucets, using small hand tools.
- Coordinate and assist vendors by guiding them through locations and managing sign-in/out procedures.
- Conduct virtual training, online supply ordering, and data entry using computer systems.
- Address minor issues like patching, painting, and swapping out dispenser machines.
- Custodial and janitorial experience.
- Proficiency in cleaning commercial spaces.
- Ability to track work orders efficiently.
- Basic computer knowledge for data entry and virtual training.
- Fluency in English for speaking and writing.
- Experience in vendor relationship management.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as a commercial janitor, custodian, or cleaner.
- Skills in mopping and using power tools.
- Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks.

Work EnvironmentYou will work in a manufacturing environment with specific clean rooms. Training during the first month is scheduled from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday, transitioning to a 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM shift thereafter.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sunnyvale, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
