Illumio is a leading cybersecurity company that specializes in protecting organizations’ digital assets through innovative segmentation technology. We are seeking a talented General Counsel to join our team and lead our legal department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate law, contract negotiation, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance within the technology sector. This position will ensure that Illumio always operates within the law, offering counsel on legal issues, and limiting risk exposure.

Legal Excellence and Advisory:

• Provide timely and expert legal advice to executive leadership, enabling informed decision-making and risk mitigation.
• Ensure legal compliance across all aspects of the organization’s operations, promoting integrity and ethical conduct.

Strategic Contract Management and Transactions:

• Drive efficient and effective contract negotiation, drafting, and management processes, minimizing legal exposure and optimizing business outcomes.
• Guide strategic transactions and corporate initiatives, leveraging legal expertise to support growth and expansion efforts that continue to accelerate Illumio’s growth.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution Leadership:

• Manage litigation matters and dispute resolution processes with diligence and efficiency, protecting the organization’s interests and reputation.
• Foster collaborative relationships with external legal partners and stakeholders to achieve timely and favorable outcomes in legal proceedings.

Intellectual Property Protection and Asset Management:

• Develop and execute strategies to protect the organization’s intellectual property assets, safeguarding innovation, and market competitiveness.
• Vigilantly monitor and respond to intellectual property infringements, ensuring the enforcement of rights and mitigating associated risks.

Corporate Governance and Compliance Assurance:

• Maintain robust corporate governance practices, ensuring adherence to regulations, policies, and best practices.
• Establish and oversee compliance programs to mitigate legal risks and promote a culture of accountability and transparency.

Commercial Background:

• Strong record of playing a leadership role in driving time-sensitive, high profile commercial transactions of software and software-related professional services contracts.

Public Company:

• Understands how to navigate inside a public company with the track record of knowing the right questions to ask and foresight to get ahead of potential concerns.
• Knowledgeable about a wide breath of areas of law including but not limited to corporate law, contract negotiation, employment, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance within the technology sector.
• Demonstrated experience in being able to help attract and retain top talent and build a legal team that delivers results.
