Job Description & How to Apply Below

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to own the SOX‑certified financial data ecosystem and lead its evolution into an AI‑ready, enterprise‑grade financial data foundation. Operating at the intersection of Finance, Internal Audit, Security, Data Platforms, and AI engineering teams, you will ensure that compliance requirements are embedded by design — not retrofitted — and that innovation initiatives never compromise financial integrity.

Description

You will be accountable for the integrity, correctness, traceability, and control posture of financial data across its full lifecycle, including data models, transformations, reconciliations, and SOX‑relevant reporting outputs. In parallel, you will ensure that enterprise financial data is structured, governed, and architected to enable advanced analytics and AI use cases safely. This role will serve as the bridge between regulatory compliance and enterprise innovation and be accountable for ensuring that financial data powering external reporting is trusted, controlled, and audit‑ready, while simultaneously evolving that same data foundation to be AI‑ready, scalable, and innovation‑enabling.

This is a high‑trust role directly impacting audit outcomes, regulatory risk posture, and the organization’s ability to responsibly leverage AI in Finance.

Responsibilities
  • Own the SOX Certified Financial Data Ecosystem by ensuring end‑to‑end integrity of financial reporting data, maintaining complete lineage and traceability, establishing validation and reconciliation frameworks, and keeping certification documentation and audit artifacts.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into architectural guardrails, partner with AI teams to ensure structured, governed, and protected financial data, evaluate innovation for its impact on financial control, and enable AI‑driven automation in Finance without audit risk.
  • Collaborate with enterprise platform teams to enforce ITGCs, meet SOX standards, implement SoD, and ensure compliance before onboarding certified financial data, while assessing platform upgrades for control implications.
  • Design preventative and automated controls to minimize manual reliance, ensure auditable evidence, and enhance efficiency without compromising rigor.
  • Ensure enterprise financial data is AI‑ready by defining standards for quality, metadata, access, and explainability, maintaining traceability and compliance, and collaborating on secure AI experimentation zones.
  • Lead SOX walkthroughs, manage control gap remediation, conduct risk assessments for new capabilities, and report risk posture to Director‑level leadership.
  • Lead and develop a high‑performing engineering team by coaching in regulated environments and fostering a culture of innovation, control awareness, technical excellence, and accountability.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • 10–14 years of enterprise engineering or data platform experience.
  • 8+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of: SOX compliance, IT General Controls (ITGC), Segregation of Duties (SoD), Change management controls.
  • Experience supporting financial reporting systems or certified financial data.
  • Solid understanding of enterprise data architectures.
  • Ability to influence cross‑functional platform teams without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CSOE) are highly preferred.
  • Experience in publicly traded companies and environments under external audit scrutiny is strongly preferred.
  • Strong executive communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience working with enterprise finance and data platforms such as SAP, Oracle Financials, Snowflake.
