The Network Operations Engineer is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and enhancing network infrastructure through safe change execution, incident response, and operational monitoring.
This role requires strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, the ability to respond to network events, and coordination with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues that impact service availability.
The position involves operational rotations, on-call responsibilities, and participation in major incident management activities.
Key Responsibilities- Execute network changes using standard procedures, automation tools, and safe implementation practices.
- Participate in operational rotations and provide break-fix support for network issues.
- Identify and respond to actionable incidents using monitoring systems and analytical problem-solving techniques.
- Conduct routine root cause analysis (RCA) and collaborate with support teams and vendors to drive resolutions.
- Provide on-call support during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Join major event and incident calls, applying technical and analytical skills to resolve network issues affecting services.
- Manage fault handling and escalation by identifying network/system faults, coordinating with third-party suppliers, and driving issues through resolution.
- Utilize automation tools and develop scripts to automate routine operational tasks and increase efficiency.
- Experience supporting network infrastructure in an operational or network engineering environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network events and incidents.
- Experience working with monitoring tools to detect and address actionable network issues.
- Ability to work independently and use sound judgment when resolving complex problems.
- Experience participating in major incident calls and coordinating technical resolutions.
- Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors during escalations.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience using automation tools or scripting to streamline operational tasks.
- Experience developing automation scripts for operational tasks.
