A global AI/Robotics start-up is expanding its North American presence and is seeking a Senior IT Operations Engineer to lead and scale IT operations in Sunnyvale. This foundational role blends technical leadership, strategic systems thinking, and hands-on execution to support world-class engineering and operational growth.

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

Pay Rate: $50-70/hr

Duration: 12 month contract (possibility to convert to full time employee at end of contract)

Hours: 7am-4pm PST

Responsibilities

• Lead core IT capabilities for the Sunnyvale office, delivering scalable systems across networking, device management, infrastructure automation, and endpoint support.
• Design and implement onboarding/offboarding processes, access provisioning, and full asset lifecycle management.
• Act as the senior-most IT point of contact in North America, collaborating with global teams across engineering, facilities, and operations.
• Own security and compliance for local endpoints, identity systems, physical infrastructure, and vendor relationships.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years in IT operations or infrastructure roles with experience supporting macOS and Linux endpoints.
• Deep technical expertise in networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP/DNS, VPNs), identity/access control, and office/site setups.
• Proficient with tools like MDM platforms (Kandji, JAMF, Intune), ITSM platforms (Jira Service Management, Service Now), and ITIL-aligned workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to drive initiatives independently, communicate across diverse teams, and mentor junior staff.
