As the Marketing Director, U.S. Systems & Connectivity, you will lead the marketing strategy for Cepheid’s Gene Xpert® instrument platforms and connectivity solutions across the U.S., driving adoption, lifecycle growth, and market leadership.

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to own U.S. Marketing for Gene Xpert systems and related connectivity solutions (instrument platforms, LIS/EHR integration, and software features). This high-impact role will define positioning, pricing, and value narratives; lead product launches and marketing programs; and accelerate adoption across diverse care settings.

You will collaborate closely with Global Product Management, Sales, Medical Affairs, Value & Access, Regulatory, and IT teams to ensure our systems and connectivity offerings meet customer needs and deliver measurable clinical, operational, and economic value. You’ll champion interoperability and security expectations for connectivity features (e.g., HL7/FHIR-based integrations), while enabling the field with outcome-based tools, training, and customer engagement programs.

As a systems and connectivity expert, you will differentiate Cepheid in the marketplace, build total cost of ownership (TCO) and ROI models for Gene Xpert platforms, and engage stakeholders from lab leadership and IT to clinical decision-makers through targeted messaging and integrated campaigns.

This position is part of the Customer Activation and Americas Marketing organization and will drive positioning, messaging, demand generation, launch excellence, and adoption for Gene Xpert systems and connectivity.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Own U.S. Systems & Connectivity Strategy:
    Define end-to-end marketing plans for Gene Xpert instruments and connectivity/software features, including segmentation, pricing, and portfolio architecture.
  • Drive Launch Excellence:
    Lead regional launch planning and cross-functional readiness for new systems and connectivity features; represent Marketing on Launch Excellence teams.
  • Advance Interoperability & Security Value:
    Translate customer and IT needs into value propositions aligned to HL7/FHIR and IHE LAW profiles; highlight secure-by-design connectivity aligned with FDA cybersecurity guidance.
  • Accelerate Installed-Base Growth:
    Develop lifecycle programs to drive system expansion and connectivity feature utilization; create compelling ROI/TCO tools for decision-makers.
  • Enable Field and Customer Engagement:
    Equip Sales with tools and training, deliver educational programs, and build relationships with healthcare IT, lab directors, and key opinion leaders.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years (or Master’s with 8+ years) in relevant marketing roles within regulated healthcare (diagnostics, medtech, life sciences).
  • Proven success in product launches and go-to-market strategies for capital equipment and connectivity/software features.
  • Working knowledge of LIS/EHR integration standards (HL7, FHIR), IHE LAW profiles, and lab workflow implications.
