About the Role

The Uber AI Solutions team is seeking a seasoned leader in Supply Chain and Task Allocation to own our work allocation function and oversee global real-time adherence. This role is central to optimizing resource deployment, reinforcing operational rigor, and driving high-performing global delivery.

As a Work Allocation Expert, you will manage the end-to-end process of aligning independent contributors with project needs, ensuring efficient task distribution based on skills, requirements, and quality goals. The role requires strong ownership, agility, and a data-driven approach to navigate dynamic priorities and maintain seamless execution. The ideal candidate excels in fast-paced environments, adapts quickly, and continually identifies opportunities to enhance efficiency and contributor experience.

What

You'll Do
  • Take full ownership of day-to-day task assignment operations, ensuring contributors are optimally matched to projects based on skill sets, availability, and project-specific requirements.

  • Manage allocation queues with agility, proactively responding to real-time changes in project demand, contributor availability, and evolving business priorities to sustain quality and throughput goals.

  • Use internal allocation systems (e.g., Internal Assignments tool, Worker Teams, team funnels) to manage contributor permissions, configurations, and assignments. Maintain accurate and transparent allocation and project records.

  • Identify, investigate, and escalation allocation or performance issues that may impact project timelines or quality. Collaborate cross-functionally with domain and engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve challenges promptly.

  • Lead initiatives to improve allocation logic, efficiency, and contributor satisfaction. Analyse trends, address recurring bottlenecks, and implement sustainable process enhancements to strengthen operational agility and scalability.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional experience, including at least 1 year in task allocation, resource management, or operations support, preferably in a high-volume, fast-paced, and quality-driven environment.

  • Proficiency with resource management tools, Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Apps Script), Slack, and project management software.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of SQL for creating, updating, and maintaining allocation queries or dashboards.

  • Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities for coordinating across multiple teams and stakeholders.

  • Proven agility in adapting to shifting priorities and business demands while maintaining precision and composure.

  • Demonstrated extreme ownership, taking initiative, anticipating issues, and driving solutions without waiting for direction.

  • Experience managing large-scale contributor or workforce operations in a dynamic, high-growth environment.

  • Familiarity with workforce optimisation, load balancing, or work orchestration systems.

  • Demonstrated success in improving operational efficiency through data-driven insights.

  • Experience collaborating across technical and non-technical teams to implement process automation or tooling enhancements.

  • A proactive, analytical, and growth-oriented mindset with a focus on improving team performance and contributor experience.
