Day dreaming about building AI tools to shape the future? Do you thrive on influencing the productivity of teams building products used by millions? Are you excited to shape the future of how Amazon devices are built? The Amazon Devices & Services organization is building a dedicated team to build the next generation of AI-powered developer tools that will accelerate innovation across Alexa, Fire TV, Ring, Echo, and more.

As a key member of our AI Tooling team, you will have a front-line view into how all Amazon devices are engineered. You’ll work closely with talented engineers, applied scientists, and product leaders across the company to design, build, and scale common AI tools that make our teams more efficient and effective. AI tools are progressing every day and are being tuned by teams across amazon.

Your work will directly impact Amazon’s ability to deliver more products and features to customers, faster than ever before.

Key job responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality, user-friendly AI-powered developer tools that integrate seamlessly into existing engineering workflows, enhancing productivity and efficiency.
  • Explore and implement techniques like fine-tuning and retrieval-augmented generation to create custom AI models that leverage internal data and infrastructure.
  • Research and evaluate new AI tools and frameworks that could benefit our software engineering processes, building pilots and PoC implementations.
  • Assist in defining and tracking success metrics for AI tools, using data-driven insights to guide continuous improvement.
A day in the life

Your day will be dynamic and impactful, involving collaborative problem-solving with cross-functional teams. You’ll dive deep into designing intelligent tools that streamline complex development processes, working closely with engineers to understand their challenges and create elegant, scalable solutions. You may work with our retail team or AWS to understand what AI tooling they are using, and then own customizing the tool for the devices org.

Some days you will be a student, learning about the newest AI tool or technique. Some days you will be a teacher, helping partner teams learn to use the new tools. Every day, you get to build AI tools that accelerate Amazon devices development teams.
