Job Description
Pay Range: $71.04hr - $76.04hr
Requirement / Must Have- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of three years of related experience, or Master’s degree in Engineering with at least one year of related experience.
- Experience working with cable assembly, wire harness production, or electromechanical manufacturing.
- Proven experience implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or SPC programs at suppliers.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience evaluating supplier technical, quality, and business capabilities.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Experience supporting new product introduction and production environments.
- Experience conducting supplier root cause analysis and driving corrective and preventive actions.
- Experience managing supplier qualifications, process validations, and capability studies.
- Experience working with manufacturing processes such as wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, connector termination, overmolding, potting, and heat shrink application preferred.
- Familiarity with IPC-WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739.4, IPC J-STD-001, or ISO 14572 preferred.
- Experience interpreting electrical schematics, wiring designs, and harness acceptance testing preferred.
- Evaluate and select suppliers within the copper cable and wire harness industry.
- Guide engineering teams in supplier selection and provide DFM input for new designs.
- Procure custom cables for new product development and track material readiness.
- Drive supplier performance improvements in quality, cost, capacity, and risk mitigation.
- Conduct supplier root cause analysis for harness failures and implement corrective actions.
- Manage supplier process changes, equipment qualifications, and production optimizations.
- Complete part qualification deliverables including pFMEA, process validations, inspection reports, gage R&R, and capability analysis.
- Develop and maintain harness standards, specifications, and design guidelines.
- Collaborate with strategic sourcing to evaluate new suppliers and manufacturing sites.
- Support engineering change orders and manage specification updates as required.
- Generate and track supplier performance metrics and communicate status to stakeholders.
- Review and resolve customer complaints, variance requests, and first article inspections.
- Drive supplier ramp readiness planning and ensure launch preparedness for new products.
- Broad hands-on experience in cable assembly and wire harness manufacturing processes.
- Strong interpersonal and executive-level communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple supplier projects simultaneously.
- Experience developing supplier scorecards and reporting supply base health metrics.
- Supplier quality and performance management.
