Lockheed Martin is seeking a motivated Aerospace Engineering Intern to join the Engineering team in Sunnyvale, CA supporting Space Force's Next Generation GEO Overhead Persistent Infrared Mission. This position will be a full-time, on-site position.

We are seeking a self-starter to support our Mission Payload (MPL) Integrated Product Team (IPT). In this role, you will work closely with our Lockheed Martin engineers and key supplier technical team to test and analyze the performance for a technically advanced optical payload.

In this role, you will assist the MPL IPT in the following areas:

* Participate in test of the MPL

* Prepare quick look test data packages for review

* Track closure of actions, requirements and deliverable engineering documents

Basic Qualifications:

* Currently a Junior/Senior standing, pursuing a degree in Aerospace, Optical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

* Experience using collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Google Workspace.

* Proactive mindset with a willingness to ask questions and learn new tools quickly.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

* U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Desired

Skills:

* Experience with MATLAB

* Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle constructive feedback professionally

* Current or existing Interim or Secret Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules:
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Part-Time as assigned by leader

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $53,227 - $70,708. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
