Job Description & How to Apply Below
- We are seeking a System Validation & Test Engineer to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of every sensor, module, and system we ship to customers. This role owns validation from early prototypes through production, with a strong emphasis on hardware-focused testing, data-driven analysis, and cross-functional debugging.
You will define and execute validation strategies, oversee incoming and outgoing quality checks, analyze performance and yield data against KPIs, and work closely with engineering and operations teams to rapidly identify, debug, and resolve issues. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the hardware, cares deeply about details, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Own system- and module-level validation for sensors and robotics systems, from EVT through production
- Validate performance of hardware including cameras, LiDARs, IMUs, actuators, and multi-sensor modules
- Define and oversee IQC (Incoming Quality Control) and OQC (Outgoing Quality Control) processes
- Develop and execute test plans, test procedures, and validation protocols aligned with product KPIs
- Analyze large sets of test data, including statistical analysis, yield tracking, and trend analysis
- Identify failures, characterize root causes, and drive corrective actions with EE, optics, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams
- Collaborate on the design and deployment of test fixtures, test machines, and automation systems
- Support bring-up, debugging and scaling of end-of-line (EOL) test systems
- Clearly document and communicate validation results, risks, and recommendations to cross-functional teams and leadership
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in hardware validation, test engineering, or manufacturing test
- Hands-on experience validating sensors or electromechanical systems (e.g., cameras, LiDARs, IMUs, actuators)
- Strong understanding of hardware test methodologies and quality processes
- Experience working with IQC/OQC and end-of-line testing in production environments
- Ability to analyze test data using statistics and yield analysis to drive decisions
- Working knowledge of EE, firmware/software, optics, and automation sufficient to debug cross-disciplinary issues
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across teams
- Experience with camera, LiDAR, or perception system validation
- Familiarity with FPGA- or SoC-based test platforms
- Experience developing or supporting automated test systems
- Scripting or programming experience (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, etc.) for data analysis and test automation
- Background in EVT/DVT/PVT cycles and production ramp
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and external test partners
- Competitive salary and equity
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Flexible vacation and time-off policy
- Collaborative, fast-paced, and inclusive work environment
- Opportunity to work oncutting-edge technologies with a highly cross-functional team
