Role OverviewLead implementation engineer for defining and implementing the digital chip SOCs for communication via Low Earth Orbit satellites and Amazon gateways. Work with customer requirements and wireless system teams to define modems, high-speed interfaces, embedded processors, and DSP solutions in the latest CMOS generation technologies.
Responsibilities- Set up both logic and physical synthesis flows for various technology nodes.
- Work with ASIC design and DFT teams to understand the design and create timing constraints.
- Check RTL for clean synthesis runs, perform STA and LEC on netlist.
- Collaborate with RFIC teams to ensure correct integration of analog blocks.
- Coordinate with P&R teams for smooth handoff of netlists and timely execution of P&R responsibilities.
- Participate in flow reviews with P&R to achieve best PPA for all blocks.
- Lead timing sign-off for post P&R database.
- Verify DFM criteria via IR/EM results.
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in ASIC implementation (synthesis, STA, P&R) on deep sub‑micron nodes, preferably 16 nm or smaller.
- Experience leading or developing methodology and scripts for physical synthesis.
- Proven track record in tapping out chips that reached high‑volume production.
- Familiarity with multiple power islands and power gating.
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in ASIC implementation.
- Experience leading physical design.
- Strong exposure to UPF flow for low‑power design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in a multi‑site/multi‑team environment.
USA, CA, San Diego – $159,200 – $215,300 USD annually
USA, CA, Sunnyvale – $183,000 – $247,600 USD annually
USA, WA, Redmond – $159,200 – $215,300 USD annually

Amazon also offers a base salary range, sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will depend on experience, qualifications, and location.
