Description: Join Our Team as an Electromechanical Engineering Associate Manager where you join the team that creates Wire Harness and Cable Design for space applications! The team supports multiple lines of business at Lockheed Martin which means you could be designing packaging systems for the next mission to Mars or the next generation of GPS satellites.
Location: This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Sunnyvale CA and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.
What does this role look like?You will provide leadership, functional management and technical direction to a team of engineers responsible for electromechanical engineering research, design, development, and production support for the Harness Core Team.
Key activities you will accomplish in this role:As a Manager of Cable and Harness Design, you will be responsible to provide the functional directorate, program management, and their customers’ effective project management, accurate and detailed plans and schedules and efficient production support. You will also be capable of furthering the department’s development, growth, and expertise.
To be effective in this role, you will need:- Best-in-class leader in the design of flight cable & harness design, having led multiple program design teams and been sought after as a subject matter expert. Extensive experience in root cause analysis, proven successes in leading investigation teams and implementing corrective actions.
- Demonstrated capability to work with cross‑functional teams and suppliers in a formative environment, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to organize, motivate, and lead large groups of diverse personnel including customers, partners, and geographically dispersed suppliers.
- Desire to mentor subordinates, colleagues, and associates, providing career counseling and technical help; positive attitude and adaptability to a dynamic environment.
- 5+ years professional experience.
- No clearance required to start, but you must obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
- Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Experience with wire harness and cables design of electrical‑mechanical interconnects.
- US citizenship; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
Skills:
- Experience with wire harness and cables design of electrical‑mechanical interconnects for satellite spacecraft equipment and/or missile systems.
- ECAD and/or MCAD modeling and drafting experience.
- Schematic capture, wire list generation, voltage drop analysis.
- Familiarity with space programs, flight specifications, and/or COTS electronic equipment/components.
- Proficiency in Zuken E3 and/or similar ECAD.
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US citizen for consideration. Clearance level:
Secret.

Annual base salary range (California, Massachusetts, New York excluding major metros, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, DC) $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced, the range will reflect the final work location. This is a general guideline.
