The Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program is looking for a motivated Electronics Engineer to join the team. This individual will work in a dynamic team environment which oversees the full life cycle of the THAAD Laser Initiated Ordnance System. THAAD is a cutting‑edge missile defense system that protects our nation and its allies from ballistic missile threats.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team of Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain individuals to foster open communication between customers and the team, providing developmental, growth, and mentorship opportunities.
- Provide technical management and recommendations for the Laser Initiated Ordnance System, partnering to conduct root cause analysis, engage in vendor support/relationship building, production delivery, and sustainment support.
- Use strong collaboration skills that accommodate partners across differing geographic locations.
- Collaborate with subcontract management to provide technical support, participate in mentorship opportunities and professional development, and serve as a technical interface to THAAD management, systems engineering, quality, and customer counterparts.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or another related technical/engineering discipline from an accredited college/university.
- Experience designing, modifying, and/or integrating circuits.
- Knowledge of production support, integration, and/or qualification of hardware components.
- Exposure to or participation with failure investigations, root cause analysis, and/or corrective action disposition.
- Ability to obtain or maintain a DoD Secret Clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
Skills:
- Experience as a hardware owner, such as Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) or Subject Matter Expert: SME, etc.
- Combination of experience in engineering project management, supplier management, technical evaluations, tracking, and development of cost/schedule.
- Missile and/or aerospace related education or experience.
- Familiarity with optics (laser diodes, optical fibers, lenses, etc).
- Experience with THAAD processes and products.
- Risk and opportunity experience with an understanding of continuous improvement concepts.
• This position requires a government security clearance. You must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.
• Clearance Level: Secret
• The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington DC is $85,500 – $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range reflects the candidate’s final work location.
