Primary Function

As a Broadcast Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in operating, maintaining, and supporting cutting‑edge technology across customers' event studios, premium event centres, and digital event environments. You will collaborate with Sr. Broadcast Engineers, Venue Managers, Jr. Engineers, Producers, Technicians and other experts to ensure that audiovisual, conferencing and production infrastructure delivers seamless, high‑quality event experiences while balancing legacy systems with new technology.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and apply best practices in AV engineering, including troubleshooting, monitoring, calibration, maintenance support and documentation.
  • Interact with Engineering Management, Broadcast Engineers and Sr. Broadcast Engineers to maintain common technological solutions and workflows.
  • Maintain SOPs for safety, maintenance and use of venues.
  • Identify challenges in event support and recommend new options and opportunities with Sr. Broadcast Engineers and engineering management.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance engineering team to repair, replace or create engineered solutions for equipment and infrastructure to keep integrated systems functional and performing to industry standards.
  • Use advanced troubleshooting best practices and root‑cause analysis to identify weaknesses, minimize recurrence and improve future design and integration.
  • Coordinate and oversee repair and replacement of equipment with the in‑house maintenance team and third‑party vendors, service personnel and/or outside contractors.
  • Mentor and help develop Broadcast Engineers and other technical personnel.
  • Update database of equipment assets and inventory.
  • Recommend alternatives to infrastructure, including replacement of systems and equipment.
  • Update system documentation and service manuals related to and useful for installation work, and diagnostic reference for current repairs and future upgrades.
  • Maintain technical drawings, signal flow diagrams and integrated systems designs in standard software packages such as CAD, Visio, etc.
  • Interact with other technical and non‑technical client staff.
  • Organize and provide training for all operations technical staff on equipment and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • In‑depth knowledge of legacy and state‑of‑the‑industry multimedia systems and equipment used in best‑in‑class event centres.
  • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing and solving complex technical problems and an interest in developing new strategies.
  • Overall understanding of the live program production process and a strong sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution.
  • Strong results orientation with a flexible attitude to deliver seamless and timely services to customers.
  • Mastery with all types of AV equipment and control systems, including Ross Ultrix/Carbonite/Expression, Crestron, Dante, Q‑Sys, Panasonic, L‑Acoustics, Yamaha and others.
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN hardware and software for switches, hubs, routers, bridges, modems, via copper and fiber for audio and video and control.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills related to broadcast AV, enterprise AV.
  • In‑depth "hands‑on" knowledge of audio and video production tools such as cameras, mixers, monitors, editing systems, etc. and ability to correctly setup and diagnose problems with such equipment.
  • Ability to liaise with manufacturers and integrators to install, test and recalibrate new and newly repaired gear.
  • Ability to create, read and notate on high‑level schematics, signal flow diagrams and construction drawings; proficient with CAD programs.
  • Must be proficient in Google Workspace and show ability to use automated and higher‑level processes.
  • Candidate must be a proactive problem solver and a team player.
  • Candidate must have strong verbal communications skills, be well organized and capable of handling multiple assignments.
