Job OpportunityThe Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) program is looking for a motivated early‑career Mechanical Engineer to join the team. This individual will work in a dynamic team environment that oversees the full life cycle of the THAAD primary and secondary missile structures. THAAD is a cutting‑edge missile defense system that protects our nation and its allies from ballistic missile threats.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team of Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain individuals to foster open communication between customers and the team. The high level of responsibility provides developmental, growth, and mentorship opportunities to help you advance in your career.
- Provide technical evaluation for the missile structures, working on root‑cause analysis, vendor support/relationship building, and production delivery support.
- Use strong collaboration skills to accommodate partners across differing geographic locations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college/university.
- Model‑Based Engineering knowledge (using a CAD model as the record of authority).
- Working knowledge of MATLAB, Creo, and/or EPDM.
- Must be a US Citizen; this position requires a government security clearance.
- Missile/aerospace related education or exposure.
- Familiarity with composite design and/or manufacturing experience.
- Fundamental understanding of propulsion assemblies and materials.
- Knowledge of hardware manufacturing processes (machining, heat treatment, surface treatment, assembly, etc.).
Required government security clearance. Must be a US Citizen.
Clearance Level: Secret.
Work Details- Location:
On‑site full‑time at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. - Schedule:
9x80 with every other Friday off. - Work hours:
40 hours over a five‑day work week (with optional condensed schedules). - Remote work: not available.
Annual base salary range: $57,500 – $101,430 in selected states (California, Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, and Washington DC). For other states, the range will reflect the candidate’s final work location.
Additional compensation: incentive plan eligible.
