Dental Billing Coordinator
Griffith Family Dental is excited to offer a career opportunity for a dedicated and professional Dental Billing Coordinator. We are seeking a highly organized individual to join our team in a Full-Time capacity. This position is not eligible for remote work, requiring the successful candidate to work on-site at our well-equipped, family-oriented dental practice. At Griffith Family Dental, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dental care with a focus on personalized patient experiences.
The Dental Billing Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining our financial health and ensuring services are accurately billed and compensated.
- Submit, track, and follow up on dental insurance claims in a timely manner when needed.
- Review insurance benefits, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), and ensure reimbursement accuracy.
- Post insurance payments, adjustments, and resolve claim discrepancies when needed.
- Bill patients for outstanding balances and follow up on unpaid accounts.
- Communicate with patients in person and over the phone regarding billing questions, balances, and payment options.
- Coordinate with insurance companies regarding claim status, denials, and appeals.
- Perform daily book audits, including reviewing charges, payments, adjustments, and account accuracy.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient financial records.
- Collaborate with front office and clinical teams to ensure proper documentation and billing accuracy.
- Support month-end and ongoing financial as needed.
- Authorization to work in the United States is required.
- 2-3 years of experience in dental billing and/or dental insurance coordinator.
- Prior experience as a Dental Billing Coordinator or similar dental administrative role preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental insurance plans, CDT codes, and billing procedures.
- Experience with dental practice management software.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable communicating financial information to patients professionally and respectfully.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills.
- Understanding of HIPAA and dental billing compliance requirements.
- Professional, confident, and patient-focused communication style.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage sensitive financial discussions with empathy.
- Team-oriented with a proactive and accountable mindset.
