Compassionate Respite Nanny

Overview

Join our Respite Care Team at Jovie Nannies + Sitters to support children and teens with special needs in families' homes. We offer part-time or full-time schedules with flexible shifts and self-selection of assignments through the My Jovie App.

• Provide engaging, child-focused care in families’ homes, including fun activities, reading, arts and crafts, and age-appropriate play.
• Work with consistent families on weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends, including typical 4-hour shifts; may also work occasional shifts with varied families.
• Maintain reliable and insured transportation to travel to multiple family homes, and use a cell phone with data to accept and record assignments.

• Childcare or nanny experience preferred.
• Special needs experience is a strong plus (experience with siblings, friends, or volunteering also considered).
• Childcare references from paid or unpaid experiences.
• Part-time or full-time availability for 4-hour shifts between 12 pm–8 pm on weekdays or 8 am–6 pm on weekends.
• Reliable transportation and a cell phone with data are required.

• The work environment is active and kid-centric, including cleanup of activities.
• Part of the day may be spent outdoors, weather permitting, with active play.
• Essential physical requirements include regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing; ability to lift up to 35 pounds; ability to get up from and down to the floor repeatedly; ability to react quickly and calmly to emergent situations.
