Project Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Sunnyvale, California. This role involves managing financial processes for construction projects, ensuring compliance with budgets and schedules, and supporting accurate reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, advanced accounting expertise, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Process bi-monthly subcontractor billings and material invoices with precision and adherence to project requirements.

- Handle monthly subcontract billings and ensure all associated material invoices are accurately recorded.

- Develop and maintain organized files, forms, purchase orders, subcontract records, meeting minutes, and other essential documentation.

- Assist in the preparation of bi-monthly client billing and quarterly accounting reports for the corporate office.

- Collaborate with the lead project accountant to gather tax-related documentation for subcontract billing and owner tax exemption purposes.

- Monitor and enforce compliance with established project budgets and schedules.

- Manage and track accounting indicators to support project progress and financial transparency.

- Facilitate the copying, filing, and distribution of jobsite correspondence and documentation.

- Organize and oversee technical data to ensure clarity and accuracy in project delivery. Requirements - Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

- Advanced Excel skills, such as pivot tables and data management, are preferred.

- Familiarity with Tier I accounting software or similar tools; experience with Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise-One is a plus.

- Prior experience in construction accounting or cost analysis is highly desired.

- Strong ability to organize technical data in a clear, accurate manner.

- Knowledge of advanced job costing methods or relevant cost accounting expertise.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to build effective relationships.

- Ability to maintain a cooperative and attentive attitude under high-pressure situations.
