Location: Sunderland, Silksworth
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 20 hours per week, 1 in 3 weekends worked
Pay rate: £12.40
The Role of a Cook- You'll create healthy balanced menus, with choices which reflect the needs and dietary preferences of residents.
- Maintain a system of effective stock rotation and control to manage catering costs within the agreed budget.
- Ensure safe and proper use of catering equipment and report any defects to management. Adhere to kitchen cleaning procedures and schedules in accordance with Environmental Health standards and keep the kitchen and store areas clean and hygienic.
- Use all equipment and products in line with COSHH requirements; keep COSHH assessments under review. Participate in and supervise the completion of all relevant records in relation to food safety.
- You’ll have a relevant Certificate in Food Hygiene, and a track record of demonstrable experience cooking varied, healthy and safe meals for large groups.
- You’ll have excellent communication skills and work well in a team.
- Be methodical and highly organised; keep the kitchen and equipment clean and tidy with an effective stock rotation system.
