It Support Engineer

Role: IT Support Engineer

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 DOE

GEM Partnership is delighted to partner with a leading engineering business in their appointment of an On-Site IT Support Engineer, who will provide IT support across all aspects of their business.

The Role:

* Responsible for providing on-site desktop support for technical infrastructure for end users

* Advising and assisting users in solving problems related to software, hardware, networks and peripherals

* Install, upgrade, and maintain workstations, servers, networks, and peripheral equipment

* Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and profiles

* Monitor systems, perform regular backups, conduct security checks (firewalls), and manage IT inventory

* Resolve and escalate IT incidents and change requests

* Involvement in IT-related projects alongside typical day-to-day Support duties

The Person :

* Previous similar experience in an IT Support role

* Ideally with a recognised IT-related qualification and an appetite to develop further

* Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Office 365 etc.) and operating system

* Good understanding of PC hardware

* Proven experience of server environments and Active Directory

* Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills

* Excellent communication skills, patience, and customer service skills
