Engineering Assistant

We are looking for a Engineering Assistant to join our clients well established engineering team based in Sunderland.

You will be working both individually and as part of a team to improve and maintain engineering standards on site, plant and equipment, these tasks may involve the use and operation of vehicles, power tools or specialist equipment.

• Must have a valid 7.5t Driving License

• Daily inspection and general maintenance of main infrastructure, including gates and swing bridge, rail, plant and equipment.
• To carry out working at height duties, using a MWEP or a Scissor lift, cleaning gutters, painting, or operating.
• Patrol and inspect allocated routes and assess / report any defects. This will include safety inspections of facilities, if appropriate, carry out the necessary minor repairs or, if external contractors are required, to report in accordance with agreed reporting procedures.
• Undertake key holder responsibilities as and when required.
• To collect parts and equipment from suppliers and service providers.
• To report and record customer requests / enquiries, where appropriate, using information technology, health and safety issues and to report / record evidence of problems.
