Motor Vehicle Technician
Core Responsibilities
- Inspect and service vehicles to the highest standards, reducing the likelihood of unscheduled work or breakdowns.
- Specialist vehicle knowledge of several vehicle manufacturer types in the market, including light goods vehicles and light HGVs up to 7.5 tonnes; most fleet up to 5.5 tonnes.

Work Experience / Achievements
- Experience maintaining Cars, CDVs, Passenger Service Vehicles and Goods vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes.
- Fully qualified motor vehicle technician.
- Recognised level of certification such as City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Technician, NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
- Specialist knowledge of motor vehicle electrical systems & mechanical components.
- Comprehensive knowledge of computer‑based vehicle diagnostic systems and ability to analyse information to determine the most appropriate repair option.
- Ability to diagnose other vehicle faults without diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of vehicle legislation & Health & Safety legislation and ability to demonstrate required PPE.
- MOT testing certificate
- Level 3 NVQ / C&G
- NEBOSH certificate
- Knowledge of tail lift systems, their operation and repair
- LOLER testing experience
- Experience of working with a Vehicle Fleet Management System
- Experience of vehicle carnation systems
- Experience of working in a fleet management environment
- Full UK manual driving licence.
- C1 driving licence entitlement*
