Job Title: Legal Secretary (Litigation)
Location: SunderlandDepartment: Litigation TeamHours: Full-TimePay: £13 - £17 per hour
Role Purpose
To provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to the Litigation team, ensuring efficient case management and excellent client care. This includes managing diaries, preparing legal documentation, maintaining accurate records, and assisting fee earners with day-to-day tasks in line with firm standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments, maintain calendars, and monitor deadlines for nominated fee earner(s).
- Meet and greet clients professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Type letters, attendance notes, bills, and legal documentation as dictated or instructed.
- Prepare and collate court bundles in hard copy and/or electronic format.
- Apply file management procedures and ensure timely billing of files.
- Request AML documents and send reminders to clients when required.
- Perform administrative tasks including printing, scanning, saving documents, handling post, and posting letters.
- Take accurate telephone messages and relay them promptly.
- Assist with monthly billing and carry out legal research as requested.
- Attend court to deliver documents/bundles when required and produce accurate file notes.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure adequate cover.
- Ensure all outgoing documents are approved by the relevant fee earner before dispatch.

Qualifications & Training
- Minimum 12 months' experience in a similar role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Polite and professional telephone manner.
