The Foundation of Light are the registered charity of Sunderland Football Club. Based at their award‑winning facility, the Beacon of Light, we operate outreach sites in Sunderland, South Tyneside, and County Durham. Our pioneering sports charity delivers award‑winning sports, health, community and education programmes through a passionate, dedicated and highly skilled team. We are financially independent from the Sunderland Football Club, raising over £4 million each year through donations, grants, contracts and trading activities.

We collaborate with local authorities, higher education institutions and housing associations, taking a lead role in delivering projects that benefit our communities and tackle some of society’s biggest challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Possibility of full‑time employment upon completion.
  • Provide administrative support to staff working within designated teams.
  • Input and maintain designated business databases, including those of funders.
  • Understand departmental projects and internal processes to offer support when required.
  • General typing, including use of office and Outlook software and the in‑house Abler database.
  • Raise purchase orders on behalf of the Foundation of Light.
  • Monitor and order resources, maintaining stock inventory.
  • Process forms including ticket requests, petty cash requests, signed item requests, etc.
  • Support daily incoming and outgoing post, including mail‑outs.
  • Contact participants via phone calls, emails and letters.
  • Photocopy, bind and laminate as required.
  • Maintain storage using SharePoint centralised online facility.
  • Manage online facility and room bookings, both internal and external.
  • Assist with event preparation and volunteer for appropriate events and marketing of programmes.
  • Answer the telephone, take messages and support the wider business.
  • Administration with soccer course bookings via Abler online system.
  • Work across the wider teams as required.
  • Undertake training on reception duties and use of in‑house booking systems.
  • Maintain awareness of safeguarding.
  • All training to take place in the workplace.

09.00 – 17.00, one hour lunch. Days to be confirmed.
