Managing Veterinarian

If you’re ready to guide a busy, successful small-animal practice with an exceptional veterinary staff, Sun City Animal Hospital may be your next home. We are seeking a Managing Veterinarian to lead our 3-doctor small-animal practice, partnering closely with hospital leadership to support medical excellence, team development, and practice growth.

Advance Medical Care

• Provide oversight of medical and surgical cases, ensuring high-quality outcomes and client communication
• Establish and maintain medical protocols and standards of care
• Support case continuity between doctors
• Manage medical inventory, minimize waste, and control costs

Lead & Develop the Team

• Mentor associate veterinarians and support new graduate development
• Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and performance management
• Support technician training, appraisals, and medical counseling
• Partner with the Hospital Manager on training programs, CE tracking, and licensure

Drive Financial & Practice Growth

• Monitor key financial and performance metrics
• Assist with annual planning, operating, and capital budgets
• Encourage patient visits, client compliance, and community involvement
• Embrace innovation and support hospital and NVA growth initiatives

• Base salary: $130,000–$170,000 depending on experience
• Monthly production based bonuses
• Up to $10k signing bonus

• DVM/VMD from an accredited veterinary school
• Active Arizona veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
• Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring skills
• Strong medical judgment and commitment to high standards of care
• Ability to confidently lead, delegate, and motivate a diverse team
