Job Description

YOUR TASKS

This role supports Final Finish operations by operating and monitoring equipment, maintaining quality, safety, and inventory standards, and providing leadership coverage, training, and problem-solving support. The position also serves as a liaison between hourly employees and supervision while ensuring smooth production flow and team effectiveness.

Responsibilities
  • Must pass the Titmus eye exam (with or without correction) and meet all quality and safety standards in Final Finish
  • Operate, monitor, and set up Final Finish equipment; perform visual inspections, repairs, painting, and grinding tasks
  • Assist and backfill production roles to ensure coverage for breaks, absences, and vacations
  • Maintain accurate WIP inventory levels and organization of storage areas
  • Use independent judgment to troubleshoot equipment, process issues, and production set-ups
  • Support production planning by reviewing schedules, setting priorities, and ensuring line coverage
  • Create SAP work orders and coordinate with maintenance as needed
  • Participate in structured problem-solving and continuous improvement activities (CBS, CB, 5 Why, 4D, CBT)
  • Coach, mentor, and help train team members; promote teamwork and engagement
  • Provide shift coverage in the supervisor’s absence and act as a liaison between employees and management
  • Be self-managed, detail-oriented, and capable of performing under pressure
  • Follow all plant, ESH, CBS, quality, and department processes and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two or more years’ experience in the Final Finish department at Continental Tire Sumter Plant
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job posting
  • No relocation assistance is offered for this position
Additional Ways To Stand Out
  • Three or more years of Continental Sumter Plant experience
  • Certified in two or more critical positions in Final Finish
  • Excel, SAP, and MMS experience preferred but not required
