Press Molding Operator

Load, operate, and unload press to produce rubber products consistent with product specifications, while maintaining production and quality standards and controlling waste.

• Load raw material into the press in a prescribed manner, paying attention to weight and distribution for an even spread throughout the mold.
• Supervise press operation to ensure lubrication, temperature, tonnage and cycle times meet operating specifications for each product; report deficiencies to set‑up.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and dispose of waste and trash in assigned areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area, paying attention to oil, cured scrap, water and other foreign matter that could contaminate product before or after curing.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Remove trim from pads.
• Inspect stoppers and work out defects.
• Process pads through cooling unit.
• Place pads of stoppers on pallet or other assigned area.
• Observe all safety standards, environmental procedures and QSR’s.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment and/or 2–3 years of machine‑operating experience preferred.

• BD is a smoke‑free campus. Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on BD property, grounds or in the parking areas.
• False eyelashes, press‑on fingernails, and jewelry are not allowed on the production floor. Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor.
• Shoes are required to be steel‑toe and non‑slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
