Overview
Produces molded pad sheets by operating hydraulic press with high heat process. Spreads and monitors swing jigs with rubber pellets. Initiates process by starting cycle with push start button which closes mold press to produce 2 molded pads for inspection. Inspects each pad to identify defects and removes defective pads while waiting for cycle times to complete and pads to be removed from the molding press.
Monitors thickness and weights of sheet pads according to specifications. Maintains and records daily production, scrap, downtime, etc. Reports any equipment problems or breakdowns immediately to setup or supervisor.
- Operates presses utilizing standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Loads/unloads materials manually.
- Cleans work area, presses, and associated equipment.
- Inspects product for defects; reports any quality or safety issues to setup or supervisor.
- Records data on press log sheets and other documentation.
- Monitors the temperature.
- Maintains a neat and safe work space.
- Basic math skills for maintaining production boards and paperwork, as well as completed pallets of production.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Good communication skills.
- Computer literacy (capable of basic computer operations).
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
- Work extended hours as required, including weekends.
- Work around moving mechanical parts.
- Exposure to noise, vibration, and chemical fumes.
- BD is a smoke-free campus. Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on BD property, grounds or in the parking areas.
- False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and jewelry are not allowed on the production floor. Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor.
- Shoes are required to be steel-toe and non-slip for safety on the production floor.
