Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a SWBD Bus Assembler - 1st Shift.
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday 6:00 am‑2:30 pm. Hourly rate: $16.50, plus variable incentive program. Salary depends on skills, experience, market, and business considerations.
In the Production Associate, Switchboard Bus Assembler role, you will refer to diagrams and blueprints to correctly assemble and install metal bus bars and other internal components of a switchboard. You will effectively communicate and work with members of a team to complete work assignments and meet safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity goals.
In This Role, You Will- Work from manufacturing information such as front views, bill of materials, drawings, blueprints, order entry systems, and oral or written instructions to assemble metal bus bars and other components of a switchboard and proactively identify missing components.
- Use various hand tools and a tape measure to accurately measure and install material by closely following established procedures for completing the assigned function.
- Maintain expected progress of jobs in the area of assignment and communicate problem areas or part shortages.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and complete root‑cause analysis in response to quality or production issues.
- Be responsible for quality, including visual inspections of material before and after assembly, identifying nonconforming parts, and troubleshooting errors.
- Contribute to a safe, engaged and inclusive work culture by complying with all policies, including correct use of personal protective equipment, operation of equipment, and performing 5S duties.
- Cross‑train and stand in for other employees/job functions when necessary.
- Experience in complex assembly operations or assembly requiring drawings or diagrams.
- Experience with measuring devices (tape measure, calipers).
- Experience reading blueprints, manufacturing diagrams or drawings, or operating instructions.
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates residing within a 50‑mile radius of the Sumter facility will be considered.
- Proficient with computers and programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Utilizes various hand tools to assemble and verify quality in switchboards/panel boards in a Lean environment.
- Ability to read and comprehend front views, one‑line diagrams, bills of material, tape measure, and pick sheets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Works with individuals and groups to effectively participate within a team environment.
- Willing to work flexible hours and overtime to support business needs.
- Exhibits strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to resolve obstacles or delays in the production process.
