Title: Physical Therapist – Acute Care Hospital
Location: Sumter, South Carolina
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5x8 hours (08:00 AM – 04:30 PM), Monday–Friday

Overview & Responsibilities:

• Provide physical therapy services in an acute care and rehabilitation setting.

• Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans for patients across the lifespan including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

• Treat a variety of diagnoses including post-operative orthopedic conditions, general orthopedics, pediatric orthopedics, spine conditions, adult neurologic conditions (stroke, Parkinson's, MS), vestibular disorders, and wound care.

• Perform evaluations, reassessments, discharge planning, and development of short- and long-term goals.

• Deliver therapeutic exercises and activities, gait training, neuro re-education, manual therapy, dry needling, IASTM, vestibular interventions, and patient/family education.

• Ensure safe patient handling including lifting, transfers, and transport to/from treatment areas.

• Monitor vital signs, cardiopulmonary status, pain levels, skin integrity, and safety risks.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation including evaluations, plans of care, progress notes, and discharge summaries.

• Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration and follow safety, injury prevention, and abuse recognition protocols.

Required Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience.

• Acute care experience required.

• Rehabilitation hospital experience preferred.

• First-time travelers accepted.

• Strong lifting and transfer skillset required.

Certifications:

• BLS required

• Dry Needling (preferred)

• Manual Therapy certification (preferred)
