Job Description Summary
This position represents a fantastic opportunity for a talented, highly motivated, and positive individual to become a proactive member of BD’s global Operational Excellence (OPEX) community. Reporting directly to the Associate Director Global BD Excellence, the Global BD Excellence Senior Manager – Factory Flow will be passionate about creating a culture of operational and customer excellence, implementing change, and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) across the network through the BD Excellence program.
This role applies LEAN production and CI principles, methodologies, and tools to optimize performance in quality, delivery, cost, and safety.

The role supports BD Excellence and Factory Flow/Lean Workplace components.
Main Responsibilities
Coach factory teams on BD Excellence with focus on benchmarking and a zero-loss approach to optimize quality, delivery, cost, and safety.Develop capability and guide sites to allocate resources to priorities in safety, quality, and reliability.Coordinate BD Excellence component deployment and advance capability development through component methodologies; align resources to long-term CI objectives.Support multi-year cost-to-win programs by building capability to improve problem solving, loss awareness, and sustainable factory-loss elimination.Coach associates on continuous improvement methods in manufacturing, with emphasis on Lean Workplace and Factory Flow.Assist in defining the Factory Flow and Lean Workplace roadmaps and track savings in Internal Logistics and Labor Productivity.Define roadmaps for Lean Workplace and Factory Flow components and facilitate Kaizen events or bootcamps to drive performance improvements.Provide on-site coaching and assessments of kaizen activities and establish governance for project and savings status.Help site leadership align strategic vision with cascading KPIs (top-down and bottom-up).Support Lean Flow COEs by developing standards, procedures, and best practices; ensure deployment sites establish component indicators and promote visibility of impact; support maturity assessment across business units.Collaborate with BD Excellence Business Units and other functions to generate projects, solutions, and procedures.Lead multiple teams and projects toward savings and timely delivery; prioritize cost-saving initiatives.Contribute to strategic planning for continuous improvement in Factory Flow (Internal Logistics) and Lean Workplace.Serve as a champion to overcome barriers, challenge the status quo, and deliver cost-effective customer solutions.Report progress on UPH, savings, and related metrics for BD Excellence global reporting and visibility.Sphere of Influence
Influences development and execution of operating plans.Contributes to strategy development and may participate as a factory leadership team member.Provides input into key business decisions and resource planning.May represent the company to external organizations and operates with a high degree of autonomy.Impact on Results
Accountable for achievement of key operational goals and BD Excellence capability development for sustained SQDC improvement.Plays a critical role in projects and breakthrough events, e.g., driving UPH with purpose.Manages project budgets with sites and maintains plant loss landscape optimization.Responsible for project savings and cost improvements.Examples of Contacts
Internal: BD Excellence Global community at central, business unit level, plant leadership, and project teams. External: OPEX consultants and benchmarking organizations.
