Essential Functions
  • Oversees and schedules day-to-day activities of transportation employees.
  • Frequently communicates with Management team regarding status and logistics of deliveries/pick‑ups to ensure quality service is provided to customers.
  • Ensures all deliveries/pick‑ups are carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Communicates specific customer requests and/or concerns to all transportation employees.
  • Supports Load planner in their duties of planning loads to meet customer requirements.
  • Documents and communicates routing delays.
  • Communicates with drivers to ensure deliveries are made on time.
  • Provides updates to Transportation team on delivery inquiries and changes.
  • Acts as a liaison between driver associates and Transportation management team.
  • Monitors commercial drivers’ (CDL Drivers) Hours of Service and maintains DOT compliance.
  • Monitors appointments for pickup and delivery.
  • Forwards PODs (Proof of Delivery) on appropriate web‑billed accounts.
  • Monitors and responds to daily emails.
  • Advises Supervisor and Transportation Manager of all fleet related issues.
  • Attends and participates in Safety meetings.
  • Ensures adherence to all security and operational procedures.
  • Interprets, trains, and consistently enforces Company policies and procedures.
  • Interprets and enforces DOT and regulatory compliance.
  • Reliable attendance at scheduled shifts.
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.
Position Qualifications
  • Attendance:
    Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time and work alternative schedules to accommodate the needs of the business. Ability to flex schedule to interact with all shifts or coverage as needed.
  • Communication:
    Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in a courteous and professional manner with others. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction. Ability to select and use appropriate communication methods.
  • Mathematics:
    Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Language:
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or Team Members. Ability to effectively present information to management, customers, and Team Members. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
