Smart Hire is looking for a CNC Mill Machinist for a client in Sumner WA. Ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years of machine shop experience along with 3+ years of CNC Mill machining and setup experience and basic CNC programming knowledge. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking skills needed. This is a Full Time, Direct Hire role.
Salary:
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour. DOE

Job Summary
This role focuses on setting up and machining parts in a CNC Mill department supporting aerospace and defense manufacturing. The machinist will be responsible for producing high-quality, precision parts while ensuring machines run efficiently and safely.
Job Duties and Essential Functions
• Set up and operate 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis CNC Mill machines, as well as Manual Mills
• Manage assigned machines to ensure consistent, high-quality production
• Machine parts with efficiency, accuracy, and quality
• Support the CNC Lead to keep machines running and producing quality parts
• Assist with fixturing and tooling planning for work orders
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools; answer questions and suggest improvements
• Communicate effectively with programming, tooling, production scheduling, and department leadership
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Update and maintain set-up sheets
Essential Qualifications
• Minimum 3 years of machine shop experience
• 3+ years of CNC Mill machining and setup experience
• Basic CNC programming knowledge (Master
CAM) preferred
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking skills
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-first mindset
• Excellent attendance and time management
• Ability to stand and sit for extended periods in a warehouse environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluent in English
• U.S. Citizen
• High School Diploma or GED
